Adult Swimming Lessons

There are many benefits associated with swimming which include:

We offer several different lessons that are suitable for adults at The Pulse Dursley.

  1. Private Lessons

    Private lessons are available for those who would like one to one tuition or those who would like to work on specific element. Private lessons are great for nervous swimmers as the one on one tuition can help to develop your confidence in the water.

    To check availability of private lessons please contact our private tuition co-ordinator Caroline Stoneman on 01453 546441.

    Each private lessons lasts for 30 minutes.

  2. Stroke Development Sessions

    Our Stroke Development sessions take place on a Monday Evening from 8.00pm – 8.45pm.

    These sessions are popular with our adult swimmers, looking to improve their technique.

    Stroke Development will develop your ability to balance yourself in the water and improve your stroke so that your swimming will become more relaxed and effective.

    Key areas of work will be:

    • Breathing
    • Arm action
    • Leg kick
    • Streamlining

    The aim is to develop your swimming technique so that you feel confident to take part in our Swim Fit sessions, triathlons, charity events or just become a more competent swimmer.

    If you have a specific area you would like to work on please speak to the instructor and they will be able to help you.

    These sessions are pay as you go, or you can block book a number of weeks in advance,  so you can commit to as many as it takes to get your stroke just right, or until you feel happy with your ability.

  3. Group Lessons

    These lessons run in a course of 6-8 weeks.

    The group lessons run on a Friday afternoon from 2.30pm – 3.00pm.

    The session is split into different abilities from complete beginners to those looking to improve their technique.

    When learning to swim it can take practise so to help you improve as quickly as possible we allow you to swim for free during the following sessions to practise what you have learnt during your lessons.

    These free sessions are:

    Tuesday: 2.30pm – 3.30pm

    Thursday: 10.30am -11.00am

    Friday: 3.00pm – 3.45pm
