NPLQ Taster Session

Interested in becoming a lifeguard? Come along and try a training session!
On Saturday 18 May, come and meet our trainers and try out the pre-requisites for our summer NPLQ course.
Lifeguard Course Prerequisites
Every candidate attending a NPLQ course must be 16 years old or above at the time of taking the NPLQ final assessment and be able to:
- Jump/dive into deep water
- Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water
- Tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without a ladder/step and where the pool design permits.
During our taster session, the trainers will give you a taster of the other skills that you will learn during the course:
- Shallow water rescues
- Deep water rescues
- Mannequin retrieval
- Spinal turns
- CPR
- Bandaging
Times and costs
Our Taster Session takes place on Saturday 18 May from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and is priced at £10 per person.
Once you have completed this training session, you can then book yourself onto our NPLQ course in the summer and receive a £10 discount.
